What we do

UWC is represented by volunteer National Committees in over 150 countries, including Luxembourg. This unique system enables students to be selected from within their own communities and cultures. The National Committees are responsible for selecting students for entry to UWC Colleges and UWC Short Courses. They also raise funds for scholarships or run their own programmes and courses. National Committee volunteers include UWC graduates and their parents, educationalists, community and business leaders and other interested supporters. It is thanks to their engagement that students from Luxembourg can be given an opportunity to participate in UWC programmes.

The focus of UWC Luxembourg is on providing this unique opportunity at hands-on intercultural education to as many young people as possible, irrespective of their social, ethnic and economic backgrounds.

UWC Luxembourg is a registered asbl. Its accounts are administered at the Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État, account IBAN: LU80 0019 3455 7865 3000, BIC BCEELULL. The operational management rests with the Executive Committee, made up entirely of volunteers, most of whom are UWC alumni or parents of current UWC students.

As an independent non-profit organisation, UWC Luxembourg asbl. relies entirely on its own fund-raising initiatives and donations from third parties. Its funding is made up of:

  • Private donations
  • Companies
  • Foundations
  • Alumni
  • Parental contributions.

UWC Luxembourg's objective is to steadily increase its operational budget so as to give Luxembourgish students the opportunity to participate in UWC programmes.
